Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Sideline Compass version 1.0.0, an offline Android educational companion published for The Huddle Up Foundation, Inc. It covers the app installed on a user’s device. It does not govern the independent practices of Google Play, device manufacturers, operating systems, linked public resources, schools, teams, leagues, camps, or other providers.
Publisher and product role
The publisher is The Huddle Up Foundation, Inc. Sideline Compass provides general youth-sports education for athletes, parents, guardians, coaches, mentors, volunteers, and communities. It is not an official registration, roster, schedule, recruiting, admissions, scholarship, medical, emergency, messaging, or payment service.
Offline-first operation
Version 1.0.0 is designed to work entirely offline and does not request the Android Internet permission. The app does not create an online account, upload content, synchronize to a server, or receive remote notifications. Public policy and support pages are separate web resources and are not loaded inside the app.
Data the app processes
The app processes only limited interaction state chosen on the device: identifiers of modules opened, up to five module identifiers pinned to the private Next Huddle board, and the current screen needed to preserve ordinary navigation. These identifiers describe app content, not a person, team, athlete, result, diagnosis, or location.
Data the app does not request
Sideline Compass has no fields for names, email addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, school or team names, contacts, schedules, scores, statistics, recruiting profiles, notes, messages, photographs, videos, precise locations, payment details, government identifiers, health records, diagnoses, medications, or emergency contacts.
Storage and retention
Interaction state is stored in Android private app preferences on the installed device. It remains until the user removes individual pins, uses the in-app Erase Local State control, clears the app’s storage in Android settings, or uninstalls the app. The publisher cannot remotely retrieve, restore, or delete it.
Backup and device transfer
Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for the app. The manifest and extraction rules exclude app files, databases, and preferences from backup. Device or operating-system behavior outside the app’s control may still be governed by the device provider’s own terms.
Permissions
Version 1.0.0 does not request Internet, advertising ID, location, camera, microphone, contacts, phone, SMS, calendar, notifications, activity recognition, Bluetooth, nearby devices, or shared-storage permissions. Future versions will require a policy and Data Safety review before any permission or network feature is added.
Third-party SDKs
The app contains no advertising, analytics, attribution, social, authentication, payment, cloud database, crash-reporting, or location SDK. AndroidX components support local Android interface behavior. Build-time libraries do not receive user data merely because they were used to compile the app.
Advertising and purchases
The app displays no advertisements, targeted advertising, sponsored placements, donation checkout, subscription, in-app purchase, or payment request. It does not use an advertising identifier or create profiles for marketing.
Children, youth, and guardians
The subject matter includes young athletes. The app is designed for guardian-aware use and does not offer chat, direct messaging, public profiles, followers, user uploads, public leaderboards, or adult-minor private contact. Parents and guardians should supervise use, make consent and safety decisions, and verify the practices of every real-world provider.
Health and safety information
Sports-safety content is general education only. The app does not diagnose, treat, monitor, prescribe, assess concussion, provide emergency response, or make return-to-play decisions. Stop activity and involve a responsible adult or qualified professional when pain, injury, illness, concerning symptoms, or safety questions arise. Contact local emergency services for urgent danger.
External sources and providers
The Source Shelf lists public references as plain text for transparency. Because the app has no Internet permission, it does not open or monitor them. A source URL does not mean the publisher controls, endorses, guarantees, or continuously verifies the third party. Users must independently confirm current rules, services, eligibility, prices, schedules, safety, and privacy.
Security
Local state is protected by Android’s application sandbox and is not deliberately exported. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should protect device access, install operating-system updates, and use Android’s storage controls when sharing, repairing, selling, or disposing of a device.
User controls
Users may unpin any module, erase all app interaction state from the Gear Bag, clear storage through Android settings, or uninstall the app. No publisher request is required because version 1.0.0 does not receive or control the local state. Erasure cannot be reversed by the app.
Policy and product changes
Material changes to networking, permissions, data handling, SDKs, audience, or features require an updated app review, public policy, in-app policy, Play Data Safety form, and other applicable declarations. The effective date and version will be revised when the policy changes.
